Elementary Education for Teacher Assistants to Teachers

Earn your degree and obtain teacher licensure in just five to seven academic semesters of fully-online coursework. 

This program has been designed to meet the needs of teacher assistants who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education; it also offers a concentration in exceptional children where candidates can then attempt to take the PRAXIS licensure exam and add on the EC license. With a fully-online delivery format, students can earn their degree in five to seven academic semesters of coursework.

Program Requirements

  • Pass state required examinations (currently PRAXIS core and PRAXIS CKT Math)
  • Successfully Interview for Admissions in to the Teacher Education Program
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7
  • Pass Pearson North Carolina licensure examinations
  • Successful completion of the edTPA Portfolio

  • Must be a current K-12 public schools teacher assistants
  • Minimum 24 transfer credit hours
  • Minimum GPA: 2.7
  • Either meet CAA (comprehensive articulation agreement) or DCP general education core requirements
