Elementary Education for Teacher Assistants to Teachers

Earn your degree and obtain teacher licensure in just five to seven academic semesters of fully-online coursework.

This program has been designed to meet the needs of teacher assistants who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education; it also offers a concentration in exceptional children where candidates can then attempt to take the PRAXIS licensure exam and add on the EC license. With a fully-online delivery format, students can earn their degree in five to seven academic semesters of coursework.

Program Requirements

Pass state required examinations (currently PRAXIS core and PRAXIS CKT Math)
Successfully Interview for Admissions in to the Teacher Education Program
Cumulative GPA of 2.7
Pass Pearson North Carolina licensure examinations
Successful completion of the edTPA Portfolio

Minimum 24 transfer credit hours
Minimum GPA: 2.7
Either meet CAA (comprehensive articulation agreement) or DCP general education core requirements
