Available Programs

Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Degree Completion Program

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) is a 16-month, on-campus program. This program starts annually in January. The ABSN program option combines your previous bachelor鈥檚 degree with 60 credit hours of nursing courses, to equal 120 credit hours of study. Students who successfully complete the BSN program and pass the NCLEX-RN, may be seamlessly admitted into the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. On campus housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis with other students enrolled in professional programs and graduate students.

What You’ll Do

Answer the call to ministry through obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Discipleship Studies and a Minor in Biblical Studies followed by a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Studies – all within only five years, saving you time and making the most of your educational investment!

As a student in the Accelerated Pastoral Ministries Program (APMP), you will receive a broad based exposure to the arts, humanity and sciences, as well as scholastic, theological and practical preparation for ministry.

The program accelerates your course work where you are able to finish all of your course work in five years compared to the 7+ years it takes students to complete both degrees in traditional programs. Your five years of academic work is broken into two parts. The first three years of coursework are in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy where you will earn a Bachelor of Arts in Discipleship Studies and a Minor in Biblical Studies. The final two years of coursework are in the School of Divinity where you will earn a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Studies.

What You’ll Learn

These five years you will prepare for ministry through both coursework and field experience. You will have opportunities to grow spiritually while participating in student ministries and on-campus activities all while having the support of both a mentor and a cohort.

In addition to the University鈥檚 general education and prerequisite course requirements, the Accelerated Pastoral Ministries Program (APMP) requires five years of academic work broken into two parts.

Students must complete 129 semester hours in three years to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Discipleship Studies with a minor in Biblical Studies in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy.

With 21 semester hours of advance standing, students will enter the School of Divinity, upon acceptance, where they must complete 69 credit hours in two years to earn a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Studies. Accelerated Master of Accountancy

The Accelerated Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program allows 澳门六合彩高手 undergraduate students to begin work in the MAcc program while completing their bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting.

Qualified students may apply for admission to the Accelerated Master鈥檚 Program (AMP) in Accountancy during their junior year (or after 60 credit hours). If accepted, students can take up to six credit hours of graduate coursework to apply toward their MAcc degree and earn combination credit for these hours at the undergraduate level.

Courses in this program are taught online in eight-week terms to increase flexibility.

Train for a career in communicating with the deaf and hard of hearing.

澳门六合彩高手 provides you with the necessary training to become proficient in the language. As a student, you鈥檒l have opportunities to join the Deaf Club, students dedicated to promoting deaf awareness and assisting the deaf community and general population; Joyful Hands, a ministry team sign language choir that performs Christian songs in sign language; ASL-based international mission trips; and the ASL Table, a weekly silent dinner in the GWU cafeteria that allows you to join together with hearing and deaf students.

What You’ll Learn

A major in American Sign Language will be prepare you for interpreting, teaching, and other careers where communication with the deaf and hard of hearing are necessary. Upon graduation, you will have earned an advanced or higher on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) because you will be proficient in receptive and expressive ASL and knowledgeable about Deaf culture and history.

Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language (ASL)

In addition to the 澳门六合彩高手 University general education program requirements, an additional minimum of 48 hours of credit is required for the Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language degree. Required courses represent 39鈥45 hours while electives represent a minimum of 9 hours. The major includes the completion of a capstone project, as well as internships.

A minor in American Sign Language can be earned upon completion of 15 hours of Sign Language electives beyond the core requirements. Deaf Culture () in combination with any other ASL courses at the 200-level or above is required.

Your degree in American Sign Language will prepare you to take on rewarding interpreting positions in various settings such as:

You will also be prepared for graduate studies in ASL and linguistics. With teacher licensure, you鈥檒l have the opportunity to make a difference in the schools throughout North Carolina by raising awareness for ASL and deaf culture and creating opportunities for expression and communication.

GWU鈥檚 Interpreter Training Program consists of the ASL Major and the Interpreting Minor. This combination allows us to give greater weight to the development of language skills since Interpreting Skills are dependent on strong language skills. Our graduates have been very successful and our program is well respected for producing good interpreters ready to go to work. Our program integrates knowledge of interpreting with practice both in and out of class and real world experience. Our graduates qualify for Provisional Interpreting Licensure in NC and we work with them to prepare for the certification test with either EIPA or CASLI.

Expand your knowledge of creative expression and its history through the exposure, education and understanding of Western and non-Western artistic and cultural heritage, while also developing your own artistic abilities in a variety of mediums.

As an art major, you will develop your artistic skills and abilities, celebrate your growth as an individual and broaden your understanding of the history, creation, exhibition and business of art. An Art degree will also give you the experience of working in a variety of forms of artistic expression.

What You’ll Learn

Through a comprehensive study of art forms and opportunities for the exhibition of your own work, the Art program will provide you with both foundational knowledge and portfolios of your work to help you craft the beginnings of your career in visual art. 澳门六合彩高手 will offer you concentrations in two-dimensional art such as drawing and painting or three-dimensional work in ceramics and sculpture. 

During your senior year, you will exhibit work demonstrating a concentrated focus in technique, style and content, while also developing your critical thinking and communication skills by presenting a thesis defending your work.

Bachelor of Arts in Art

In addition to the University鈥檚 required general education and prerequisites, the Bachelor of Arts in Art requires 50 credit hours of coursework, including 14 hours of history, exhibition and topics courses and 24 hours of foundation studio classes. A total of 12 elective hours must completed in courses at the 300 level or above. Nine of those hours must be taken in one studio sequence.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art

In addition to the University鈥檚 required general education and prerequisites, the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art requires 65 credit hours of coursework, including 17 hours of art academics and 24 hours of foundation studio courses. Twenty-four hours of elective coursework at the 300 level or above is also required, including 15 hours from one studio concentration and the remaining nine hours from outside the concentration.

Second Major in Art History

Students may earn a second major in Art History by completing 30 hours of classes and earning a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better in a combination of Art History courses (21 hours) and Art Electives (9 hours).  Students earning a second major in Art History must complete and present an independent research paper in art history.

Students may complete a second major in Studio Arts by earning a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better in Foundation Studio courses (30 hours) and two Art History courses (6 hours). The 澳门六合彩高手 Biochemistry program combines courses in biology, chemistry, physics and math in order to help you learn about processes that take place in living organisms.  If you are interested in a career researching new vaccines and medicines, or developing tests and procedures to detect, cure and prevent disease, then this program is for you. While pursuing a degree in biochemistry, you will learn how to apply the scientific method; operate various scientific instruments; perform laboratory procedures; and use mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze data. You will have access to modern laboratory technology and experienced faculty, giving you hands-on learning experiences.
