What You’ll Learn

As a student in the Master of Accountancy program, you will deepen your knowledge of the key functions of accounting and how it applies to economics, finance, international business, management, information systems, marketing, operations, statistics, and more. You will learn how to demonstrate leadership and business decision-making skills, while also gaining experience in the application of accounting concepts through internships, service opportunities, course projects, course simulations, and interaction with business leaders.

Master of Accountancy

In addition to the University鈥檚 prerequisites, the Master of Accountancy requires a minimum of 30 semester credit hours of graduate studies, including 15 hours of core curriculum, nine accounting elective hours and six graduate business elective hours. A student may take nine to 15 accounting elective hours by selecting an emphasis, or a combination of different areas. The required curriculum includes a Capstone course in advanced auditing.

Fully Online

You will log into Blackboard to complete assignments, participate in online discussions, and complete group activities. While there are no face-to-face meetings, some of the activities may include chats, discussion boards, recorded and/or live webinars, and various web links for viewing. Your classes will operate in Blackboard and each semester鈥檚 final projects will be submitted in an electronic portfolio in Taskstream. Upon full acceptance to the online program you will be required to complete online certification to verify your proficiency in an online environment.

Master of Arts Teacher Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction

Students in the Master of Arts: Teacher Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction program must hold at least a bachelor鈥檚 degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 2.50 grade point average for all coursework beyond high school. Three years of teaching experience is strongly recommended. In order to obtain graduate-level licensure, students must hold initial licensure. Applicants not currently licensed in North Carolina are eligible for acceptance into the program but will not be recommended for licensure unless they obtain an initial State of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Professional Educator鈥檚 License prior to completing their degree.

Integrated curriculum will be offered within the five-semester, 33-hour Curriculum and Instruction degree program. Each semester students will take one module, consisting of six or seven integrated semester hours with a one-credit hour internship during the third, fourth, and fifth semesters.

Doctor of Education in Curriculum & Instruction

Students in the Doctor of Education in Curriculum & Instruction program must hold at least a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on all graduate-level work. A minimum of three years of experience is preferred and a teacher’s license is required. Applicants without a teaching license must provide a letter stating their teaching experience. Each semester students will take one course (6 or 12 credit hours) along with a one credit hour dissertation seminar.

The 63-credit hour program is offered in a hybrid format with participants required to attend class three weekends each fall and spring semesters. Each weekend consists of Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the summer months, candidates will attend seven face-to-face sessions, two of which will be as part of the College of Education’s Graduate Summit . This process continues for two years until classroom studies are completed. After this, your next two semesters will be six-hour and three-hour dissertation semesters respectively, thus concluding your program. The electronic portfolio, a requirement for your degree, will be created and stored online in a product called TaskStream.

What You’ll Do

Upon completion of this program, students will have earned a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and will be eligible to take the Praxis in order to be licensed as a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist. Candidates will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and beliefs that will enable you to function effectively in curriculum roles.

Develop the skills and knowledge to help you master the fundamentals of identifying and protecting against security threats and organizational risks, outsmart cybercriminals and be the frontline of support for governments and top organizations as a cyber security professional.

The curriculum is based on National Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) guidelines for Cyber Defense programs. NCAE-C is managed by NSA (with help from FBI and other agencies). Most of the cybersecurity courses are designed to correspond to specific CompTIA (The Computing Technology Industry Association) certifications.

This program is offered in-person to our traditional undergraduate students as well as fully online to our degree completion (DCP) students.

Curriculum

What You’ll Learn

In addition to learning all the elements of cybersecurity knowledge recommended by the NSA, the world鈥檚 leader in securing computer networks, the 澳门六合彩高手 cybersecurity student will gain insight into the moral and ethical issues related to cyber-defense in relationship with a Christian liberal arts education.

Upon completion of the degree program, students will be able to:

  1. Analyze and resolve security issues in networks and computer systems to secure an IT infrastructure.
  2. Use cyber security, information assurance, and cyber/computer forensics software/tools.
  3. Develop policies and procedures to manage enterprise security risks.
  4. Evaluate and communicate the human role in security systems with an emphasis on ethics, social engineering vulnerabilities and training.
  5. Investigate and interpret security incidents.
